CUBAGE:
The dimensions of your package will be calculated as dimensional weight.
In centimetres:
(Height X Width X Length X 4.54) / 27 000 = number of kg
In inches:
(Height X Width X Length) / 384 = number of kg
What will be billed is the greatest of dimensional weight and actual weight, rounded off to the next highest half kilograms.
Example: A package measuring 18 X 18 X 10 inches, weighing 5 kg:
(18x18x10)/384 = 8.5 kg
You will be billed $7.75 for the first 3 kg + $0.65 X 5.5 =
$11.33 + surcharge as necessary (see surcharge for special handling) + fuel + taxes.
FUEL:
Additional weekly costs will be added to your bill. The calculation of these costs will be based on the weekly increase recommendations by the Freight Association of Canada (FCA), based on fuel costs. These costs are generally in the region of between 8% and 25%.
MEMBERSHIP FEES:
To be eligible to take advantage of the prices laid out here, you must be a member of the Commercants de la Chaudiere. For the months in which you make use of our transportation services, a fee of $2.10 will be added to your monthly shipping/transport bill. All companies possessing an active shipping account are automatically eligible for free membership cards for employees.
It is possible to join the employee membership card program without having to utilize transport services. Fees are billed annually according to number of employees benefiting: 1 - 10 = $5, 11 - 15 = $7.50, 16 -30 = $12.50, 31 - 50 = $35 and for more than 100 = $27.50 per 100 employees.
TAXES:
GST and QST will be added to your bill.
BILLING:
Each month, an invoice will be sent to you, upon which will be indicated numbers and bills of lading employed. The total outstanding is to be paid upon receipt of your account, payable to the Commercants de la Chaudiere inc. Interest of 1 % per month will be added to your unpaid account (30 days).

REGULATIONS
INSURANCE:
You can insure your parcel for a value not exceeding $5000.00. In order to have your parcel insured, you must indicate its value in the appropriate box on the bill of lading.
For a declared value of less than $100.00, insurance is free. For a declared value between $101.00 and $5000.00, insurance will cost 3% of value declared.
For any value up to $500 000, insurance must be authorized by a member of staff of Commercants de la Chaudiere, who will give you an authorization number, while for a value exceeding $500 000, the staff member is required to seek authorization from his or her supervisor.
Dicom will not transport high-value items as described on the back of the waybill.
LOSS OR DAMAGE CLAIMS:
All claims as may arise must be addressed to the Commercants de la Chaudiere inc. within 90 days of the event, otherwise they will not be accepted.
NB: If you do not indicate any value in the appropriate box on the waybill, you will be eligible to obtain $4.41 / kg based on total shipping weight, as specified on the waybill.
TRACKING:
In the case of delays, Dicom Express will conduct a trace of your shipped item at no extra cost.
PRE-ADDRESSED WAYBILLS:
Bills of lading pre-addressed in the name of the Commercants and the name of your company will be provided on request. You must use these when sending your package prepaid. The weight of each of your packages must be indicated, either in kilograms or pounds, in the box intended for this purpose.
The maximum allowable number of packages per waybill is 4. Each must be clearly labelled (addressed) and with self-adhesive stickers (bar codes) attached to waybill. Manifests for 8 packages are available to those who send more than four parcels at a time on a frequent basis.
For packages sent collect, you must strike through your account number as written on the bills of lading. It is important that your account number is not visible on your shipments that are sent collect, otherwise you risk being invoiced. If the recipient is not a member of the Commercants de la Chaudiere, they will be billed based on agreement with Dicom Express.

It is important that you take the appropriate measures to avoid injuries, as well as breakage and/or transportation problems.
Special handling shipments are defined as follows:
- NON-CONVEYABLE SHIPMENTS: ASSOCIATION RATE = $8.20 (reg. $16.40)
- Not shipped in a box or envelope (e.g. bars, tires.)
- Having an irregular shape (sharp, circle, bag)
- Not stacked or risk to surround in the conveyor
- Is over-sized (greater than 36 inches or 91 cm)
- May damage other packages
- OVERWEIGHT ASSOCIATION RATE = $8,20 (reg. $16.40)
- A package the weight of which is greater than 32 kg (70 lb)
- A shipment (including one waybill for a lot of packages) the weight of which is greater than 127 kg (280 lb)

COLLECT SHIPMENTS:
For all packages that you receive collect, you will be charged no additional fee.
Saturday Service:
A Saturday delivery service... to more than 400 cities and towns in Québec and Ontario! Additional charge of $16.40 for weekend service for the communities of Bagotville, Baie-Comeau, Chambly, Chicoutimi, Drummondville, Kingston, Mont-Joli, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Rivière-du-Loup, Rouyn-Noranda, Sherbrooke, Toronto, Trois-Rivières and Val-d'Or.
For other locations, prices should be confirmed with Dicom by calling 1 888 GO-DICOM.
You will need to call, before Friday pickup, 1 888 GO-DICOM to notify them that a package needs to be delivered on Saturday and to indicate the waybill number. Even if you mark an X next to "Saturday special service" on the waybill, you must call, in addition, 1 888 GO-DICOM as otherwise delivery cannot be guaranteed for Saturday.

SECOND-TIME DELIVERY:
You will be charged a fee of $4.75 if there is no-one on site to receive the item, as the delivery person will have to return a second time. In cases where there is a mistake on the address as written, the regular rate will be applied a second time. In either case, a new waybill will be applied, with the Dicom address as the sender.
